Description

The UN SDG Open Pedagogy Fellowship is a transformative initiative designed to empower educators worldwide to integrate the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their teaching through open pedagogy and Open Educational Resources (OER). This fellowship, a collaboration across international institutions, enables faculty to co-create innovative, accessible learning experiences that promote global citizenship, sustainability, and social responsibility. Fellows are guided to design assignments, projects, and activities that leverage open pedagogy principles—emphasizing active student engagement, critical thinking, and real-world impact. By aligning curriculum with the UN SDGs, participating faculty foster a learning environment that inspires students to address pressing global challenges, from poverty and inequality to climate action and quality education.

This panel presentation will provide a platform for educators to explore the potential for aligning course objectives with the UN SDGs through open pedagogy and OER. Panelists will share insights into their experiences, including challenges and successes, while encouraging an open dialogue with attendees.
