The home is surrounded by a white picket fence and the fence is in turn surrounded by a large orange grove. In the distance, behind the home, one can see Lake Maitland. In the foreground there is a wooden fence with a gate. The words "Hon. Lewis Lawrence's Residence" are written on the back left-hand side of the photograph.
