Abstract
Letter dated October 12, 1697 (October 2, 1697 Old Style) from Phineas Pemberton to his daughter, Abigail Pemberton concerning delivering barrels of cider. There is a note written by Abigail on the front.

the 2nd day of the 8th month 1697
Abigail [Abigail Pemberton] I have here sent by Thomas Rogers Three barlls [barrels] of -
sider [cider] thou [you] mayst [may] get a Cart & [and] take them home Two of them
& [and] let Rachel Preston [Rachael Preston] have That marked RP [Rachel Preston] & [and] put the other
two in the buttery do not broach them untill [until] I Come to Towne [town]
I am in great hast [haste] but shall be glad to heare [hear] you are all well
I am not very well Since I came home I shall pay him the
fraight [freight] of them when they have done [finished] working wch [which] will be in
a few days be sure they be close sloped my deare [dear] love to friends
is all at present from thy [your] father
