Letter dated November 18, 1700 (November 8, 1700 Old Style) from Phineas Pemberton to his wife, Alice Hodgson Pemberton.

the 8th day 9 mo [month] 1700
my deare [dear]
in that Endeared [endeared] relation of Love & [and] kindnes [kindness]
that hath [has] brought us together & [and] united us in that
onenes [oneness] that makes us one where Love freely
flows [are] thou [you] very neare [near] & [and] deare [dear] unto me
I am still well tho [though] the place sickly & [and] hope to be
with thee [you] the Latter one of [page damage: those?] next week
& [and] sooner I do not expect it may be Longr [Longer]
but I hope not my absence now so Long from
thee [you] makes me Long to see thee [you] & [and] be with thee [you]
this is the fourth Letter I have sent thee [you] but
whether thou [you] has rech [reached] them or no I know not
but I have not had one line from thee [you] but
hope all is well my kind love to Ab [Abigail Pemberton] & [and] pris [Priscilla Pemberton]
let Ab: [Abigail Pemberton] know I tooke [took] it unkindly from her
shee [she] did not write to me by the Indian that
Came down from pensberry [Pennsbury Manor, Pennsylvania] hither [here] to let me
know how you were at home I do not now
