Title
Optimum Allocation of Load Requirements to Generating Units in an Electric Power System
Abstract
The concept of optimum dispatch in electric power systems is introduced. A nonlinear programming model of the problem is developed. A classical solution algorithm utilizing Lagrangian multipliers is presented. A graphical solution to a two unit problem is also illustrated. The relationship between the boiler fuel input and generator energy output is investigated. A BASIC computer program to solve the problem is presented and utilized to dispatch a three unit example.
