Approximation of holder continuous functions by singular integrals

Abstract

H6lder continuous functions and their fundamental properties are discussed in Chapter 1. Definitions of singular integrals and some basic propositions are dealt with in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3 we list some known results of approximation of H6lder continuous functions by singular integrals obtained in recent years, and in Chapter 4 we carefully study the degree of approximation of function of class L (p > 1) by some particular singular integrals and p obtain some results to be used in Chapter 5. In Chapter 5 we have obtained some new results concerning the degree of a convergence of H6lder continuous functions of class H by p some singular integrals. The results of Chapter 5 extend the results of Mohapatra and Rodriquez [12].
