Teaching Energy Conservation Principles.
Abstract
As part of Energy Systems program at the University of Central Florida, a dual level course in Energy Conservation, EML 5455, is offered. It is a 3 hour semester course taught with 3 hours of lecture and no laboratory work weekly. The objective of the course is to develop an awareness of building energy use and conservation while at the same time introducing them to design methodology. This paper emphasizes the unique aspect of the course, the coupling between the project assignments and course material.
