Title
Management Of Amphibians, Reptiles, And Small Mammals In Xeric Pinelands Of Peninsular Florida
Abstract
Management on public lands is largely confined to prescribed burning to maintain fire climax status of the vegetation. Regulation of large-scale developments on private land has stimulated interest in preserve design and management. The suite of techniques used to solve conflict between natural system preservation and development includes 1) conservation set asides (preserves) on site; 2) habitat restoration; 3) purchase and dedication of off-site preserves; 4) species relocation; and 5) wildlife resource mitigation fund. -from Authors
