Title
Joining Forces: Television And Reading
Abstract
This article encourages the use of television to promote reading. Four types of television-reading programs are described. These are: TV motivators for recreational reading, script reading projects, the use of teachers’ guides for classroom activities related to viewing, and commercially prepared instructional units. Evidence to support such practices is provided and suggested resources for classroom implementation are described. A reference list of available sources for classroom instructional materials is included. © 1982 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
