Title
Progress Report: Diode Pumping And Frequency Conversion
Abstract
The author reviews recent progress of diode-pumped lasers in both infrared and visible regions of the spectrum. Various schemes of diode pumping and frequency conversion are discussed, including high-efficiency crystals of KTP, KNbO3, and MgO:LiNbO3 suitable for frequency up-conversion of diode or diode-pumped lasers, and the self-frequency-doubling crystals of Nd:MgO:LiNbO3 and neodymium-yttrium-aluminum-borate [NdxY1-x-Al3(BO3)4, referred to as NYAB]. Features of these crystals are summarized.
