Title
Piezoelectric Actuated Scanning Mirror System Utilizing A Type One Control Loop
Abstract
A control system for a piezoelectric-actuated scanning mirror has been designed and built. Zero-steady-state position error is achieved by placing the electrically capacitive piezoelectric actuator in the feedback path of an operational amplifier. Series-cascaded notch filters and lead compensators are utilized in the forward path of the control loop to remove undesirable mechanical resonances, resulting in increased system stability. The system is capable of ±1.7° of angular deflection, with a bandwidth of 80 Hz.
