Title
Applications And Features Of A New Nonlinear Crystal: Lithium Triborate
Abstract
The properties of lithium triborate (LBO) are investigated. A 35-mm × 30-mm × 15-mm crystal was grown by a modified flux method. A four-circle diffractometer was used to measure the crystal structure. The phase matching curves for doubling and tripling of Nd:YAG are shown and discussed. Other features of LBO were explored, including the wide transparency range, high effective nonlinearity with noncritical phase matching in the principle planes with large acceptance width, high damage threshold, and chemical stability.
