Title
Control Of Nocardia In A Municipal Activated Sludge Facility
Abstract
The paper reports on a study to determine the cause(s) of the biological imbalance and identify corrective measures. Project activities included: isolation and identification of filamentous organism(s); determination of solids handling capacity of activated sludge final clarifiers; return sludge chlorination for filament reduction; operation of bench-scale reactors at variant growth rates for species selection; and operation of full-scale facility at alternate growth rates for species selection.
