Title
How To Put Solar Energy In The Public School Curriculum.
Abstract
A direct spin-off from our hands-on teacher education program has been a larger number of students involved in solar-oriented scientific investigations in and around their schools, the widespread introduction of teacher generated instructional materials, and a dramatic increase in the number of alternative energy projects in regional and state science fairs. A description is given of the successful techniques employed to attract teachers to inservice workshops. The methods used to help them integrate solar concepts into their instructional materials, and the kinds of follow-up that can be provided at little agency cost are also presented.
