Visual Flight Simulation - Can We Get There From Here And Will It Be Worth It?
Abstract
The phases of USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training are outlined. The visual cues utilized in these phases are described. The technology of visual simulation is discussed relative to flight simulation. Related research issues are described. The issue of procedure vs. technique in flying training is introduced. Related research issues are described. The argument of transfer of training of simulator techniques to flying experience is posed, and suggestions for simulation applications to the flying phases are made.
