Abstract

Electronic spreadsheets are a group of software packages which are the fuse that has ignited the microcomputer explosion. Many individuals who have neither the interest, time, nor inclination to become computer experts, with minimal investment of time, have effectively put the microcomputer and this software to use. In practically every case, when a company purchases a microcomputer, an electronic spreadsheet is one of the first software programs purchased. Often, the capability of this software was the primary reason for purchasing the computer hardware.
