Title
Some Florida Engineering Landmarks.
Abstract
Settlers first reached Florida early in the sixteenth century. Since that time there have been many noteworthy engineering achievements. Initial developments were in the areas of fortress construction and the next major structures of note were lighthouses. A description is presented of some of the past noteworthy achievements in a variety of engineering fields. Also described are the five current (1984) ASME Mechanical Engineering Landmarks in the State.
