Title
Tutoring In A Generic Intelligent Simulation Training System
Abstract
An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) can be viewed as a system that provides an environment for exploration and learning. An Intelligent Simulation Training System (ISTS) is a generic Intelligent Tutoring System that can easily be adapted to different domains. ISTS uses dynamic simulation scenarios as a basis for drilling and instructing a trainee. The functionalities of ISTS include the individualization of the lesson plan to the needs of a trainee, the evaluation of the trainee's overall performance, and the generation of expert feedbacks. The personalized scenario is dynamically generated with emphasis on the weakness of each trainee. This paper presents a thorough description of several functionalities within the ISTS. These include lesson creation, dynamic scenario modification, material presentation, and the generation of expert feedback. © 1992.
