Title
Photoionisation Of Neon Between The 2P Fine Structure Limits
Abstract
Working at a monochromator bandpass of 0.019 A, the authors have measured the cross section and the angular distribution parameter beta for the autoionising resonances 12d', 14s', 13d', 15s', and 14d' based on the 2 P1/2 core in neon. Using both ion spectra and photoelectron spectra, they determined the relative intensities of the various transitions. Between the resonances beta =-0.17(15); at the s' resonances beta increases to a value beta approximately=+0.1; at the d' resonances beta decreases to a value beta approximately=-0.35. This trend is in accord with theoretical calculations, as are the shapes for the resonances in both the cross section and in the angular distribution.
