Title
Political And Modeling Perspective Of International Drive Moratorium Study Area
Abstract
The International Drive area is an activity center located in Orange County, Florida; vacation capital of Florida and major destination for over 20 million tourists each year. International Drive was to have a southern extension to S.R. 536 as part of Orange County's activity center designaiton and increased intense development was a part of the plan for the International Drive extension area. These new developments were a concern to Orange County knowing that the existiong section of International Drive had trafrfic problems along with Interstate 4. To analyze the study area Orange County declared an eighteen month moratorium. Orange County obtained the moratorium in the International Drive study area to coordinate and review future growth in the area. This paper reviews the results of an analysis of the area performed during the moratorium.
