Abstract
The Internet is a global resource connecting millions of computers. The author discusses the hardware and software needed to access the Internet and how to use one of the main Internet tools, electronic mail. Part Two, to be published in the fanuary/Pebruary 1996 issue, will explore ways the Internet can be used to access and use resources stored on computers around the ivorld through the use of Telnet, File Transfer, Gopher, and the World Wide Web (WWW). © 1995 Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
