Title
Method for temporally and spatially resolved thermal-lensing measurements
Abstract
A new method of studying thermal-gradient-induced lensing in laser crystals is reported. The method is applied to an optically dense laser medium, ErTmHo:YAG, and the temporal behavior of the flash-lamppump-induced temperature distribution is determined during and after pumping. Data for highrepetition-rate pumping are also presented. © 1994 Optical Society of America.
