Abstract
In an attempt to use statistical variable data for process improvement at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), statistical quality control is being introduced in the shop floor for use by technicians and engineers. An Expert System is proposed to support this effort. The system has a component for process improvement, which uses a process capability index to suggest continuos process improvement to reduce cost and duration of the process.
