Title
Integrated Optical Waveguide Devices Achieved By The Disordering Of Multiple Quantum Wells
Abstract
A new method of post-growth intermixing of GaAs-AlGaAs multiple quantum wells (MQWs) has been developed. This new technique of impurity-free vacancy-induced disordering is area-selective, very reliable and high reproducible. In a study, the process of impurity-free area selective disordering of MQWs is shown to be a viable method of achieving optical integrated devices. Further optimization of this technique could enable the realization of more complex and functional devices.
