Title
Software Engineering Curriculum Issues
Abstract
Software engineering curriculum has to provide students with a strong mathematical and theoretical base, problem solving and analysis skills, written and oral communication skills, knowledge of and experience in software engineering principles, processes and products, and an understanding of the applicable societal and ethical issues. Software engineering education experience must include experience applying software engineering principles to non-trivial problems to effectively address the needs of the industry. Studies are being done to assess the current software engineering curriculum to address these requirements. Various issues relating to modifications to the curriculum are discussed.
