Title
Assessing The Impact Of Continuing Engineering Education
Abstract
The impact of continuing engineering education on the social and professional life of engineers is discussed. The impact of the National Alliance for Photonics Education in Manufacturing's (NAPEM) regional pilot programs for semiconductor and dual-use and end-to-end systems testing industries is also discussed. Current trends in continuing education are encouraging and shows that participants and sponsoring employers are asking for proof of value for their time and monetary investments. NAPEM's continuing offerings were based on a model of partnering with industry, assessing needs, following up with participants and continuously improve educational offerings.
