Title
Bridging the insurance reimbursement gap for dialysis patients: One recommended method
Abstract
This article looks at the position for Social insurance Coordinator as an integral part of a dialysis center's business and social service offices. Without an individual committed to the precepts of this position, it is likely that a number of patients would not only experience lapses in their funding but also would be without a perceptible means of accessing the mechanisms necessary to assure consistent reimbursement. This position can be influential in both facilitating the funding needs of end-stage renal disease patients and, at the same time, serving the patient oversight requirements of the dialysis treatment organization. Cost-benefit principles are explored.
