χ(2) cascading: Nonlinear phase shifts
Abstract
Nonlinear phase shifts which increase with input irradiance can be generated in quadratically nonlinear materials by the exchange of energy between a fundamental and a second harmonic. Here we review this effect, theory and experiment.
