Abstract
A uniformly illuminated square subarray of 16 circularly polarized patch elements is developed. It can be incorporated into a full-size direct broadcast satellite (DBS) receiver antenna. A stacked circular patch microstrip configuration is used to achieve increased bandwidth. Experimental results for the return loss, bandwidth, radiation pattern, and gain are presented. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
