Title
Code optimization for direct sequence spread spectrum and SAW matched filter implementation
Abstract
This paper introduces an algorithm for the minimization of the time sidelobe level (TSL) of correlation functions of PN sequences by applying dynamic weighting to the value of the sequences. The modulation effect on the autocorrelation sidelobes is taken into account in the new optimization algorithm introduced in this paper. The derived weighted sequences show excellent correlation characteristics compared with the conventional binary sequences such as maximal length sequences, Gold sequences and Barker codes. SAW apodized matched filters are designed for the weighted sequences. The experimental results of the SAW matched filters for the suppressed TSL sequences and Barker code are found to be in agreement with theoretical prediction.
