Title
Conical scanning microwave scatterometer geophysical performance simulation
Abstract
Satellite microwave scatterometer systems have been successfully used to remotely sense oceans surface wind vectors. Future systems will use small conical scanning antennas to sample the ocean's surface. This paper describes a computer simulation to generate radar measurements of ocean backscatter and to retrieve ocean winds. Application of this simulation to active remote sensor development at Raytheon Systems Company St. Petersburg is presented.
