Title
Beam shaping with antenna arrays using neural networks
Abstract
A method of designing antenna arrays for a desired radiation pattern using neural networks is presented. A back-propagation neural network is trained to synthesize array patterns for non-uniform arrays. Given a certain radiation pattern the network can predict the number of elements needed and their respective excitations that will yield this pattern. This method is potentially useful in `beam-shaping' using array antennas. Results for various patterns and array cases are presented and discussed.
