Title
Quadratic spatial soliton generation by seeded down conversion of a strong pump beam
Abstract
Two-dimensional quadratic spatial solitons (QSS) are generated by seeded down conversion of a strong pump beam in a KTP crystal near the degeneracy point for the parametric interaction which is the reverse second-harmonic generation. Because this downconversion can be seeded from quantum noise, a soliton can be generated if a long enough crystal or strong enough pump field were launched.
