Title
Intracavity spectral shaping and inverse bow-tie semiconductor optical amplifiers for high-power hybrid mode-locked semiconductor lasers
Abstract
The potential for artificially tailoring the intracavity spectral shaping to avoid gain-narrowing effects in mode-locked semiconductor diode lasers was studied. Optical pulses of 330 fs duration were produced. High average powers were obtained by employing novel inverse bow-tie semiconductor optical amplifiers. Average mode-locked output powers of 0.4 W were generated. These results show the potential for all semiconductor mode-locked lasers for commercial applications.
