Effect Of Gd3+ Substitution For Y3+ In Ylif 4, Kliyf 5, And Yvo 4
Abstract
The effect on Nd3+ Stark levels of substituting Gd for Y in YLiF 4, KLiYF 5, and YVO 4 laser crystals is slight, as demonstrated in our spectra and in our best-fit crystal-field parameters. Gd-based crystals maintain the spectral properties of Y-based crystals while allowing for larger Nd concentrations. © 1994.
