Title
Effectiveness Of Statistical Assignments In Mpa Education: An Experiment
Abstract
Using an experimental approach, the author found that different statistical assignments can affect learning effectiveness. Reading-only assignments are inferior to other methods for student learning. Computer exercises are as effective as hand calculation, as long as students understand the statistical concepts. This study also finds that hand calculation improves students' confidence in using statistical tools. The author concludes that student learning in statistics can be improved through appropriate readings, hand calculation, and the use of computers, which increases the efficiency of learning. The author also calls for an emphasis on hand calculation exercises to improve the self-evaluation of students who lack confidence in studying statistics.
