Title
Self-Aligning 2×2 Fiber-Optic Switch Using Liquid Crystals
Abstract
A 2×2 ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) fiber-optic switch (FOS) is experimentally demonstrated at 1550 nm with single mode GRIN fiber collimators. The average measured switching time is 262.5 μs due to the rise time and fall time of the FLC devices. The polarization dependent loss, and crosstalk of the switch are measured using a 1500 nm tunable laser.
