Title
Singularity Free Torque Generation In Redundant Single Gimbal Control Moment Gyros
Abstract
The use of a pyramid cluster of four single gimbal control moment gyros for spacecraft attitude control has been inhibited by the presence of singularities which preclude torque generation in a desired direction. Null motion, in which the gimbals are reoriented without causing a change the cluster momentum is used to avoid the singularities.
