Title
Modeling Of Flexible Multibody Dynamics
Abstract
The dynamic analysis of flexible multibody systems requires the combination of rigid body dynamics and structural mechanics into a field known as continuum mechanics. The resulting model introduces coupling terms and has the disadvantages of both nonlinearity and large dimensionality. An example is provided to illustrate the dynamic analysis of multibody systems consisting of interconnected deformable components which involves rigid body mechanics, structural mechanics and continuum mechanics and this example is used to illustrate the procedure striving for simplicity, understanding and a fully worked out solution.
