Title
Integrated Bragg Reflectors In Polymeric Channel Waveguides
Abstract
We report on the fabrication and experimental demonstration of an integrated distributed feedback grating device operating in the 1.5 μm telecommunication window. The guiding structure is realized with a DANS side-chain substituted polymer and operates as a Bragg reflector with an 8 nm bandwidth. Via the thermo-optic effect it also exhibits intensity-dependent switching when excited near the resonant wavelength, with transmission switching up to one half on its maximum linear value. © 1992.
