Title
All-Optical Clock Extraction Of Nrz Data Using Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers
Abstract
A semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) can regenerate strong clock component from non-return-to-zero (NRZ) data at low input optical power and high data bit rate. Recently, 40 Gbit/s clock recovery has been demonstrated from RZ formatted data based on three-section distributed feedback (DFB) lasers. The combination of SOA with three-section lasers can be a promising scheme for all-optical clock recovery from NRZ data up to 40 Gbit/s.
