Title
Can Medical Simulation And Team Training Reduce Errors In Labor And Delivery?
Abstract
Patient safety is one of the most pressing challenges in health care today, and there is no question that medical errors occur and that patients are worried about them. Currently, there is a belief that the availability of medical simulations and the knowledge gained from the science of team training may improve patient outcomes, and there is a paradigm shift occurring in many universities and training programs. This article discusses two strategies that, when combined, may reduce medical error in the labor and delivery suite: team training and medical simulation. © 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
