Title
Control Of Copper Release In A Changing Water Quality Environment Using Inhibitors
Abstract
1. Alternative water supplies cause water quality to vary by location and season 2. Add alkalinity to control iron release 3. Add inhibitors to mitigate the effect of alkalinity on copper release and maintain corrosion control despite changing blends 4. All phosphorus inhibitor types provided similar control of copper during blending 5. Higher doses of silicate inhibitor were required to achieve the effect of phosphate inhibitor. © 2009 American Water Works Association.
