Title
Shape Determination Of Aerosol Particles Using An Acoustic Transducer
Abstract
An experimental study was carried out to determine how would the signal characteristics depend on the shape of the particle, for a given transducer. The results suggest that it is possible to discriminate whether an aerosol particle is spherical or cylindrical in shape using the acoustic transducer. Cylindrical fiber particles with sufficiently large aspect ratio yield dominant peaks at frequencies different than those for spherical particles.
