Abstract

Research studying trust in Business-to-Business (B2B) relationships is only burgeoning compared to its B2C counterpart. Updating the Saunders et al. (2004) review with a sample that includes more recent studies, we find an increase in studies on trust in B2B and Interorganisational Systems (IOSs). We group some commonalities we find into three types of trust: relationship, technology and third-party and fit them in a general framework. We also identify four patterns with which researchers operationalise and test B2B trust and evaluate the empirical support for each. We conclude by discussing some gaps we observed during our review of literature. Copyright © 2009 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
