Invited Paper: Enhancing The Energy Efficiency Of Tft-Lcds
Abstract
Four approaches for enhancing the energy efficiency of TFT-LCDs will be reviewed: 1) linearly polarized lamp, 2) backlight recycling based on nano-wire grid polarizer, 3) color-filter-less color sequential LCDs using fast-response blue phase liquid crystals, and 4) intelligent backlight management using dynamic LED backlight.
