Title
Grading Schools With Utility Report Cards
Abstract
The use of utility report cards (URC) in reviewing ways to help public schools in Florida track their energy use and conserve is discussed. Orange Country (Florida) Public Schools (OCPS) is using this Web-based energy information system to track and graph monthly utility bills in a fun and educational program that will save the school district money and conserve energy. The URC program is designed to be informative, intuitive and robust for all users. Giving awards to schools that improve performance from prior-year levels creates a spirit of competition with the opportunity to recognize success.
