Title
Need For Uniform Photvoltaic Module Performance Testing And Ratings
Abstract
The variations in photovoltaic (PV) module performance ratings, caused by differences in module sampling, testing methods, rating conditions, rating tolerance limits, module power degradation and other reasons are examined. This indicates a growing need for a nationally accepted uniform PV module performance testing and rating system to allow a fair comparison of modules of different manufacturers and PV technologies, meet customer expectations and improve consumer confidence for wider utilization of PV technology. Finally, an approach is presented to implement such a uniform PV module performance testing and rating system. © 2008 IEEE.
