Title
Fabrication And Properties Of Chalcogenide Glasses For Planar Waveguides
Abstract
Chalcogenide glasses (ChG) were investigated for use in waveguide applications and in the fabrication of undoped and rare earth doped films. The photosensitivity of As-S glasses was explored as a means to write optical elements in ChG bulk and films. An increase in the temperature is observed as scans are made closer to the spot center, suggesting a photodensification of the glass film structure associated with illumination.
