Title
Uncertainty Estimates Of Photovoltaic Module Performance Measurements
Abstract
The procedures for estimating measurement uncertainty was discussed and applied to the photovoltaic (PV) module performance measurements. The specific example of the application for indoor testing at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) PV test laboratory was presented as an illustration to estimate the uncertainties in the module performance parameters. The measurement uncertainty was estimated to be 4.8% and was found to arise due to calibration of the reference module and non-uniformity of irradiance. It was found that the uncertainty estimate in FSEC module power rating could be lowered to 3.8% if only SNL calibration of the reference module was taken instead of the average calibrations.
